What does R Value mean?

The capacity of an insulating material to resist heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power.

What is the difference between Open Cell foam and Closed cell foam?

Open cell foam is full of cells that aren't completely encapsulated. In other words, the cells are deliberately left open. This makes the foam a softer, more flexible material. Closed cell foam is made up of cells that are, as the name suggests, completely closed. Closed cell foam being a higher density allows higher R value in smaller spaces such as 2x4 walls or 2x6 joists of a roof deck. It is sometimes the only product that will give you enough insulation in certain areas.

What is the R value for closed cell foam?

Our closed cell product offers a R value of 7 per inch.

What is the R value for Open cell foam?

Our Open cell product offers a 3.7 R value per inch.
